Nesting Bird Surveys

Updated: Mar 30, 2022

It's might seem a bit early to start thinking about nesting birds, and that's precisely why it's the right time.

Most songbirds won't start nesting in earnest for a couple months. Preparing a site for development now can help prevent delays in the spring and summer. Before grabbing a chainsaw, it's worth remembering that some species will start nesting very soon, and that some nests are also protected year-round, whether occupied or not.

It's also important to review any development permit guidelines or tree protection bylaws to make sure you aren't unintentionally contravening any land development guidelines.

Contact us if you have any questions about nesting birds, we may be able to save you some money.
